Simulcast engineers are responsible for the architecture, design, deployment, management and daily operations of the technology infrastructure that incorporates over 700 Linux servers, 90+ locations and a complex WAN network. Simulcast engineers resolve operational issues through support tickets and alerts from network and system monitoring tools. They are also tasked with driving and implementing operational improvements through process optimization, automation and judicious use of technology. Technology architecture strength and operational rigor are capabilities needed to successfully execute this position. The successful candidate we seek must have a demonstrable track record of achieving success in a dynamic, fast-paced start up environment. Superior communication skills, the ability to work across the organization, excellent analytical skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to participate in a team environment are keys to this position.
Qualifications (Required): • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience • 10+ years in managing software applications including web based • 10+ years experience working in large scale web environments • Strong data analysis and basic statistics skills. • Database design and optimization experience (DB2, Oracle) • Experience writing complex SQL queries • Cloud computing • Strong multithreaded application development • Experience writing AJAX modules • Understand Comet design and implementation • Ability to successfully resolve stressful production issues • Ant build experience • Familiarity with Cruisecontrol • Used Subversion • JUnit development • Automated test designs • Web development using Struts and Spring • Experience using Application Servers like Tomcat and Websphere. • Audio/Video streaming/compression • Socket programming • Excellent communication skills • Excellent problem solving skills with strong attention to detail Qualifications (Preferred): • SOA experience with strong familiarity with SOAP, REST, JMS.. • Flash/ActionScript experience • Unix admin knowledge • ActiveX controls |
